The mind of a Genius...

Stop press
My article just published in a magazine...
( incidentally, this was my first blog )
The mind of a Genius...
Today I am going to tell you about the mind of a genius. Remember, I asked you few days back, why do the geniuses are eccentric ? One of my friends answered, "Geniuses are eccentric because when God gives you something exceptional, He takes away a little bit of what people call 'normal'." Today, I asked my friend, a topper of BITS Pilani and also a topper of IIM Ahmedabad, whether Geniuses can be made out of ordinary. The answer was to some extent yes, by making people aware about self awareness and a Genius may just be needing a tipping cajoling thrust to realize that he's actually a genius.
Well, I feel differently about a Genius. A genius mind is definitely a different mind compared to an ordinary. His perceptions about each word, each happening around us is different. He has more imagination than knowledge. He can read and understand the Psychology of others very quickly. He can calculate almost six to ten moves in advance. He can predict the results of an elections much before the psephologist can. Although, he is not a clairvoyant, he can predict the future not by palmistry, astrology or planchet, but, mere common sense and calculation. He is full of innovation, he is restless, his mind is preoccupied by hundreds of thoughts. He thinks, he sees, he feels and he visualizes differently and correctly. He can tell correctly whether a tele-serial would be a hit or not, he can predict correctly the fate of a movie at the box office much before its release. Whether a genius practices science or art, his creativity cannot be ignored, sooner or later, he will be known as a Genius..!!

  1. What is Genius?
‘Genius’ should not be confused with ‘Genie’
In ancient Rome, the genius was the guiding spirit of a person. In Latin - gingko, genui, genitus means ‘to bring into being, create, produce.’ Later it began to acquire its modern meaning of ‘inspiration, talent.’
A modern understanding of the term ‘genius’ was given by F. W. H. Myers in 1903 :
‘Genius should be regarded as a power of utilizing a wider range than other men can utilise of faculties in some degree innate in all’.
Today the best understood meaning of ‘Genius’ is exceptional intellectual or creative power or inclination or natural talent or aptitude. Geniuses are not

only intelligent but also unique and innovative. The transition from ‘having’ genius to ‘being’ a genius was complete.
There is still no scientifically precise definition of genius. The term is used in various ways: to refer to a particular aspect of an individual, or the individual in their entirety; to a scholar in many subjects (e.g. Leonardo da Vinci) or a scholar in a single subject (e.g. Albert Einstein).
The world is full of people - nearly 7 billion of them speaking all kinds of languages and pursuing all kinds of interests.
Is it realistic to ask, who is the greatest genius of them all?
No, probably not. We can never be sure that we have found the smartest genius in the world. A lot of great geniuses work quietly in the background, content to get on with their work without the distractions of fame or success. Not everyone wants to publicize their brilliance. For one thing it can attract the wrong kind of attention and negative feeling if handled wrongly.
We may all may define ‘genius’ differently. You might like your geniuses to be super successful and achieve a lot. That might make you think of someone like Bill Gates who has used his genius to amass the greatest personal fortune in the world.
Maybe you think of genius as someone who can amass power in the field of politics. Bill Clinton is said to have a genius level IQ. If that’s true, it just goes to show that even geniuses can get caught with their pants down!
Of course, there are genius writers, artists, scientists, musicians, designers, inventors, entrepreneurs, and all sorts of geniuses. Which of them deserves to be labelled as the greatest genius in the world?
Does it really matter? Only one genius should really matter to you. Do you know who it is?
    It’s... YOU!
Yes, the greatest genius in the world is YOU.
Your world is made up of what you are conscious of and what you think about. You are conscious of yourself and your thoughts more than anything or anybody else. So by simply becoming the genius you were born to be, you are the greatest genius in the world.

Do you doubt your own genius?
Give up any idea that you aren’t smart enough to be a genius. Brain training is like physical training. It doesn’t matter how fat you are or skinny, if you follow the right diet and exercise program, you can transform your body and become fit and muscular and sexy.
