Dil Maange more Megapixels...

Strange but true...
everyone says Facebook is a waste of time
But I have reservations about this
Millions upload their pictures everyday
Selfies are in vogue now
Thousands have suddenly enrolled at the Gym everyday
Everyone has started buying branded clothes and accessories online now
Carrying a latest smartphone is a must now
Millions have started dieting to look thin
Thousands have gone under the scalpel
Rhinoplasty ( nose job ) and breast augmentations are normal now
Liposuction and other cosmetic surgery have increased a thousandfold
Megapixels are understood by everyone
More megapixels, better photos
More pictures on Facebook, more fame...Dr Pendyala Pradeep, Anaesthesiologist

Forget Umbrella morals for once...

Never lend your books
Nobody ever returns them
You can't trust your dearest friend there
when it comes to books
Be careful with your hats and umbrellas

They are bound to be exchanged knowingly
obviously for the worse
I am sure, you can recall vividly
about Umbrella morals
by A G Gardiner
But I think, he's wrong
So long as you spend the money on someone
you don't feel bad giving gifts to friends
and donating to charities
How's losing a book or an umbrella is different from charity
Why can't we think for once it's been gifted to someone
a more deserving person in need
moreover, a person stealing your book
never forgets you
Let's forget our lost book and umbrella for once...

Piku & Me

Dear Friends, if you want to enjoy the sights, sounds, taste of your beloved place of residence you need to bicycle. I am a doctor and I must tell you that bicycling is the best way to reduce your chances of depression, diabetes, obesity, arthritis and also to some extent stroke, heart attack and cancer. I started cycling recently, frankly, after watching the recent blockbuster Piku at RSI Secunderabad. Amitabh Bachchan as an old man of 70 years was shown riding around the city on a bicycle. And he gets relief of his chronic constipation. Regular cycling has too many physical and mental health benefits. It will definitely reduce your weight, stress and improve your physical fitness. It engages your legs while being easy on your joints. You can get fit without trying too hard just by bicycling fifteen minutes everyday. I bicycle for one strange reason which I must share, the extra flow of oxygen to my brain boosts my creative thinking... Dr Pendyala Pradeep, Anaesthesiologist

Am I Nerd...??

I regularly get messages from my credit card people
Save paper, save trees
Evidently, they don't want to send me my monthly bill as hard copy
Strange, nobody says, stop buying books and newspapers
I subscribe to TOI every month, but I rarely sit and read the entire newspaper
Reason is simple, I have TOI application on my mobile phone
And I get a notification of every important news as it occurs
I am much better informed than any regular newspaper buffs
I would repeat the same rhetoric about reading text books and expensive fiction
They are all available on the net for free
I feel much more comfortable reading on a laptop or a smartphone
The matter is written in much more friendly pattern and also with option of increasing the font size by zooming
YouTube and Google have answers to anything and everything
Unlike beating around the bush seen in every textbook
You save your precious time and you get your answers in minutes
Your "funda "about some issue may not be clear even after reading long lengthy chapters of textbook...I mean your concept...and perspective
But you can understand the core of the discussion within minutes when you surf
I have finished dozens of books in just few years since I became a nerd on net
I was a slow reader when I used to read my textbooks
But now, I'm amazingly fast reader on the net and grasping what I should
Please think over it...I can anticipate your reply...that you're used to the feel and smell of the paper...and you love to sit with your cosy book at a corner
I would say that you just need to get over it and start reading on net
And save paper and save trees...and your precious money...
