Baarish ki boonden...

Baarish ki yeh boonde
Aashiqui ko aur jagayen
dil Aashiqana tha hee
dil ko ghatavon se
ab bhee pyar hai
Baarish ki har boond
Khushyan yun layen
Gham ko bhulayen
mast mausam
suhani ghatayen
dil ko batayen
baar baar batayen
chalo ham tum
door kahin kho jayen...

Andhra Medical College....Granite Jubilee Celebrations...

AMC ( Andhra Medical College ) is an un-quenching flame set along blue coast of Visakhapatnam, on the sand hills, igniting many brains & charging them with passion to serve and to enlighten many lives, redeeming them from their sickness and suffering.
My alma mater Andhra Medical College celebrated its Ninetieth year of its foundation ( Granite Anniversary ) on 19 July 2013.
I had the privilege of welcoming the audience and presenting the first song of the cultural program on this very special occasion, which I would like to share with you all dear friends. regards and wishing you all a very happy Sunday....Dr Pendyala Pradeep, Anaesthesiologist.
PS : you may like the video clipping of the same program...initial part of recording is not okay, but the later part is okay.

Ek aur din...

Zindagee ka Ek aur din beet gaya
Wahi kuchh lamhe
Aur unme beeti zindagee
Soacha tha is din ko yaadgaar bana denge
Har pal sukh aur shanti mein bita denge
Par ek ajeeb si kashish hai iss zindagee mein
Jis tarah din beet gaya
Shayad raat bhi chali jayegi...
Uske intazaar mein...

Intazaar...

Muddatein beet jati hain
Kisi ke intazaar mein
Kaun kehta hai
Kisi ka intazaar nahin
ham jeete hain kuchh iss tarah
har lamha kisi ka naam hota hai...

Second Prize in War...??

We have plenty of Sportsmanship,
But we lack killer spirit
We are at lower rungs on the ladder
Ladder of international sports
We are defeated many a times
Only due to the lack of Killer Spirit
BTW, I must remind my Friends...
In war, you don't get second prize...!!!

Raanjhanaa...

Just saw the movie Raanjhnaa...someone who loves deeply...enacted by Dhanush, the same guy who sang, why this Kolavari di. Well, Dhanush gave a splendid performance. Abhay Deol was equally good. The girl Bindiya really performed well. Sonam was okay with her role. There are two dialogues in the movie which I can never forget: Sonam says, you can't love everyone equally and a man advising Dhanush to do right things rather than running away from his sins. It is a love story which really requires patience to watch the entire movie and understand it correctly.

Ad nauseam...( endlessly )

Nobody is born with a beautiful voice and the ability to express freely. It takes a lot of effort and practice to acquire a good voice which can be modulated for different occasions. Interestingly, extremely good singers rarely have powerful voices, when it comes to normal talking they have meek voices. Who doesn't want to be successful on the stage ? But for that, you need to have a powerful voice with powerful vocabulary. A powerful voice with great vocabulary create a permanent impression in audiences minds. Successful people have spent years in mastering the art of powerful voice and powerful words. The best method of improving your vocabulary is by becoming a voracious reader and the easiest way to improve your voice is to listen to great singers and great speakers repeatedly ad nauseam ( endlessly ).

Bhaag Milkhaa...

Finally,
saw the movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag yesterday at Vizag. It is indeed a brilliant movie and a picture perfect. Farhan is just too good in this movie. Pavan Malhotra and Prakash Raj were equally good in their roles. One night stand with a stranger girl and the dance at the pub could have been avoided in the film. I really wonder, whether one day holiday was actually declared by Jawahar Lal Nehru for 400 meters race win. Are you relaxing ? Nahin jee, I am Milkha Singh...this silly PJ was actually shown in this movie. And yes, 400 meters race was shown as if it was long cross country race, never ending. And I think, Milkha Singh never had the kind of 6-8 pack abdomen which Farhan flaunted in this movie....rather, I should ask the same question to Mr Milkha Singh...!!

ISKON and SATYAM...

Spent the day at ISKON Hyderabad. ISKON is International Society of Krishna Consciousness. These Hare Krishna devotees worship Lord Chaitanya as an incarnation of Krishna...and ISKON is actually a continuation of the same movement of Chaitanya. They follow the
spiritual teachings of Krishna and their goal of life is to develop love of God(Krishna).
Interestingly, I had visited this excellent Temple located at Abids Hyderabad by default. I was invited to attend a 100th book release function at the same place on the third floor of ISKON building. The author is a close relative of mine. He wrote a book on Company Law. The only thing which interested me was about Satyam Fraud and to know how common fraud is in corporate India. This reminded me of a joke which I heard, someone asked, can I give a bowl of fruit to my corporate boss ? Well, obviously, the answer would be yes. But the same person asked further, can the bowl be made of gold ??

Toned abdomen...

I always tell people, don't keep blaming God for having not given you a great face or great looks...you don't have control over that...but you can definitely acquire a great body...and most of the men love curvy toned body vis-à-vis ..a great Face. There's no denying everyone loves dark deep eyes, a charming personality with beauty and brains. But I must admit, men go weak in knees when they see well toned abdomen. Forget about not having looks, go to a gym for five to ten minutes workout everyday, if you can't go to gym, you can do regular toning exercises at home.

Ghanchakkar...

Just saw the movie Ghanchakkar. If you don't understand the meaning of dark comedy, you may watch it. The performances of all the actors are really good. The ending is really interesting. Vidya Balan has acted really well but she looks a bit fat in the movie. The movie is full of surprises and interesting comedy. Emraan Hashmi could act even better than Vidya Balan in this movie. You may watch it, but I won't recommend this movie.

Henna...

Our boundary wall has Henna as hedge. I have noticed, everyday scores of women come and collect leaves from our boundary wall. The reason is simple, the month of Shravan ( July ) is considered auspicious among Andhraites. And interestingly, Henna Tattoos are considered synonymous with happiness and auspiciousness. They are also considered a perfect gift to your loved ones. Go and collect some henna leaves !!

What matters most...

Impressions are mostly created by your appearance initially.
Your values, personality, capability and professionalism matter.
Your dress, grooming, body language, facial expressions do matter.
But I give full marks to your etiquette and grooming...!!

Aisa Kyon Lagta Hai...??

Aisa kyon lagta hai...
Har taraf teri khushboo hai
Aisa kyon lagta hai
Tanhayi mein main tanha nahin
Aisa kyon lagta hai
Mere shafar mein har koi tumsa
Aisa kyon lagta hai
Kisi bhi aine mein sirf tera chehra
Aisa kyon lagta hai
Tum saath chal rahi ho
Aisa kyon lagta hai
Ki tum hi meri sabkuchh ho
Aisa kyon lagta hai...??

Obsession...

Today, I asked a very beautiful and fair skinned girl whether she knows what goes through an ordinary dusky skinned girl's mind when she sees a pretty, fair complexioned girl ? I personally feel dark skin is not a handicap but in South India, where I belong, people don't think that way. They actually feel, being fair means being beautiful. They are almost obsessed with the fair skin and they dream to acquire fair skin all through their life by using various fairness creams. I personally feel that dark and dusky girls are far more attractive compared to fair skinned girls but alas, who's going to agree to my theory in South India? Interestingly, we are never satisfied with what we already have and what God has already given us. We should be thankful to God for giving us the things which many others don't have. Unfortunately, we never thank God and we keep thinking all through our life that we don't have enough and we are not lucky as others.

Nirala...

Teri tasweer nahin toh kya,
tere lafzon ki khushboo toh hai
andaz teri ada ka nirala toh hai
tere lab par khamoshi hai
par ikraar nirala toh hai
Mano ya na mano
maine rakha naam Chorni tumhara
Churaya hai dil jo mera
waqt ham guzare aahen bhar kar
aur tum angdhayi liye ja rahi ho
utha ke haath
aa gaya kabhie mera khayal
nigah kabhie ghuma dena...

Portrait...

I have a portrait in my mind
I look for the same portrait everywhere
I try to look for the same among my friends
I wonder if that portrait is my God
I wonder if it is only my belief and conviction
I know God is everywhere
I wonder why nobody has seen Him so far
I have heard people saying soul never dies
I know fear of death is the making of God
I have read in Gita to surrender unto Him
I know by His grace I can attain peace
I know I shall find that eternal abode
I have a portrait in my mind...

Aahat...

Har aahat mein teri talaash hai
Har talash mein teri chahat hai
Har chahat mein teri kahani hai
Har kahani mein teri ibaadat hai
Har ibaadat mein tera naam hai
Har naam mein tera chehra hai
Har chehre mein tere phasane hai
Har phasane mein teri chahat hai
Har chahat mein teri duva hai
Har duva mein tera khayal hai
Har khayal mein teri yaad hai
Har yaad mein teri khushboo hai
Har khushbu mein tere arman hai
Har armaan ki ek hi manzil hai
Har manzil ki tu hi shuruvat hai...

On my birthday...

On my birthday
I pray for me, my family and my friends of FB
I try to recall how much I gained
by the interactions I had
on the walls of Facebook
yes I have aged
with experiences, new thoughts and ideas
I am grateful for the love and compassion of my Friends
I have only one message on this special day
Life is beautiful, life is fun
and life is really interesting
And FB Friends are the best thing I found ...

Fukrey...

Just saw the movie Fukrey ( Punjabi slang for unemployed ). The movie had its hilarious moments, but very few. Almost every sentence has a punchline but mostly it failed to make any impact on me, although my wife was laughing on every punchline. The Pundit and Bholi Punjaban were impressive. The first half was terribly slow and beginning was not impressive but the movie slowly picked up well. Many of my friends told me that the movie has got comic punchlines which would crack me up, but I didn't feel that way. The movie was shot entirely in Delhi and its lanes. The main characters of the movie were fresh and presented something very new, which I had not seen in any movie so far, very original and bold. Interestingly, critics had been going gaga over this film, but I would not recommend this movie for your precious time.

Medical Applications and Smartphones

I am sure, many of us are almost obsessed with new entertainment applications for our smartphones and tablets. Now, we have medical applications easily available for downloading on our smartphones and tablets. The question is : are these medical apps the future of our medicine ? Most of us are using many applications on our smartphones for entertainment, but are you aware of something ?? Medical applications are going to serve us a very serious purpose. It is being strongly recommended that medical care providers should use Medical Apps forthwith and meet professional objectives of " No Maleficence and only Beneficence." These applications are like book stores and you can download them easily from many sources and interestingly it is mostly free of cost or at a very affordable cost. The development of these medical applications can effectively change the medical world. With these applications, even the patients can easily get the exact information about their disease and of course, health. The biggest question is how are they going to be regulated ? There is now an application available for almost every subject, disease, calculation of dose for any medication and also how to make a diagnosis in seconds. Amazing, ain't it ? These medical applications can prove to be dangerous when they don't operate correctly. I strongly feel, nothing can replace simple clinical medicine. It is better we don't become slaves of these medical applications !!

Bedside manners...

Empathy, curiosity, compassion comes naturally to many people. But such things can be taught to some extent especially to doctors. Good manners and good bedside manners can achieve better results and better patient satisfaction. A well mannered gentleman doctor who is respectful and attentive can be more popular and can produce better results vis-à-vis a much more skilled and qualified doctor who is well known for his rudeness. A smiling, confident and respectful doctor can easily calm an agitated mind of a patient. There's no magic wand to cure the incurable, but good etiquette can work as magic bullet, trust me.....Dr Pendyala Pradeep, Anaesthesiologist.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani...

Just saw the movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, probably Deepika Padukone's best movie. You just can't imagine Deepika could act so well. The best scene and dance of the movie was obviously the song picturization of Badtameez dil. Kalki was too good and yes, Ranbeer Kapoor was superb. Aditya Kapoor( of Aashiqui 2 fame ) has acted well. Second half is a bit lengthy. The movie is full of meaningful dialogues. I still consider, this movie is the best movie of Deepika Padukone. A must watch !!

Doctor's Day...

A doctor friend of mine reminded me of the significance of Doctor's Day. Doctors day in India is celebrated on 1 July, it is the birthday of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy. Some fascinating facts about this legendary doctor, he had both MRCP and FRCS degrees, that made him a highly qualified physician and a surgeon. He was also the Chief Minister of West Bengal for 14 years and was a leader with great vision. Dr BC Roy was honoured by the highest civilian award  Bharat Ratna on 4 Feb 1961.
Incidentally, he also passed away on 1 July 1962 on his 80th birthday.
Well, there could be several reasons for its celebration. A large population of India depends on the efficiency and responsibility of doctors. It is celebrated as a mark of respect for all those doctors who have relentlessly made efforts to sustain the life of their patients against all odds.
