A pet is essential...

For those people who are in a position to have a pet into their lives, the benefits and delight of pet ownership are considerable. Loneliness can become an unwelcome companion as we age and can lead to depression as well as physical problems. Pets require attention and dedication, but those are small prices to pay for the amount of physical and mental benefits they bring into our lives. Studies have shown that simply petting a dog can decrease our heart rate and blood pressure, which lowers overall stress. Owning a pet can ward off feelings of isolation when the pet acts as a loving and wonderful companion. Trust me, having a pet is not less than having a fortune. A dog's need for walks and exercise helps the owners get out of the house and often leads to friendly interactions with other dog owners. Both activities help decrease feelings of isolation, which can lessen depression. Although I'm very allergic to the fur of dogs, it has never stopped me from cuddling my furry friends and I'm sure there are many others who would do the same. Col Pradeep Pendyala. Sartorial Clues...

Some people put careful thoughts into selecting their wardrobes. They select colors, patterns and fabrics that they believe reflect who they are. Others, however, see clothing as strictly utilitarian and put much less consideration into selecting wardrobe items. Those who dress to accommodate the latest fashions show that they value keeping up with the trends. A person's choice to wear clothing that flatters them, or that doesn't, makes a statement about their body image and self-image. Further, there's scientific research to support the idea that sartorial clues, the details of one's clothes, do have significant meaning, at least within a specific culture, to the other members of that culture. Frankly, I believe What we wear is a true reflection of our heart. The motives of ones character is always seen by what they wear. People will always judge you by the looks. When we attend interviews, we all dare to dress presentable. You always sell yourself by your looks. No wonder they say seeing is believing and actions speak louder than words. Anybody can be a Singer...

All of us can be a singer, but only a few know how to become. One of the most important ways to become a singer is to relax and be at peace. Why do you think a lot many people sing in the shower? It is because at that time the mind is relaxed and not focused on completing any one task. It is when we empty the mind that it becomes the perfect receptacle for creativity. When you are not in shower, sit relaxed and allow your mind to drift. Nod off if you like. These are the times you are most likely to start singing your favourite song. We often talk about how at sometimes, someone through us is pouring out occasionally. That trance is the place where we meet and become one with our inner self....and that's the time, we must sing. Everyone who can speak can learn to use a singing voice, but not everyone will have a fabulous sounding voice. Once the vocal instrument is working, the ability to sing with good intonation is dependent on musical aptitude and musical achievement. Believe in yourself and your dream. Improve your singing skill. Sing as much as possible. Learn to embrace rejection and criticism. Network with people that are doing better than you in singing. Have a go at singing. Happy Singing...Col Pradeep Pendyala, Anaesthesiologist.

Happiness through Sports...

Happiness is a state of well being that encompasses living a good life with a sense of meaning and deep satisfaction. Happiness is the most pleasurable, desired, pursued, elusive, mercurial emotion of all. Whatever we do in life, we do it to become happy. With the quest for happiness, comes heightened risk for addictions of all sorts. Happiness is the experience of joy, contentment, or positive well-being, combined with a sense that one's life is good, meaningful, and worthwhile and I strongly feel that we can achieve it without alcohol and drugs easily. Playing sports also helps us stay focused in life. Sports definitely causes happiness and health. Get involved in a physical activity. Whether you are playing sports, working out at a gym, or taking a brisk walk, physical activity triggers brain chemicals endorphin that can make you feel happier and more relaxed. Through sport, we have the power to change our lives. Many people find joy and happiness in drugs and alcohol like they never have in any other activity. But, trust me, individuals with greater access to sports facilities have reported higher life satisfaction and happiness. Col Pendyala Pradeep, Anaesthesiologist.

Mirza Ghalib Ka Pata...

Today is Mirza Ghalib's 220 th birthday...
Hence, I recited few lines in his honour
With full & easy translation into English...
Ballimaran ke mahalle ki wo pechida daleelon ki see galiyan
Saamne taal ke nukkad pe bateron ke posheede
Gud-gudaati hui paan pi peekon mein wo daad wo wah-wah
Isee be-noor andheri see gali qaasim se
Ek tarteeb chiragon kee shuru hoti hai
Ek quran-e-sukhan ka safa khulta hai
Asadallah Khan Ghalib ka pata milta hai.
It beautifully captures the sentiments you would experience when you visit Ghalib’s Haveli in Gali Qaasim Jaan in Old Delhi, even today..
you need to visit old Delhi to understand this completely... the chaotic lanes & crowded lanes of Old Delhi where once Ghalib lived...
Pecheedaa daleel is a complex argument. which is similar to the lanes of Old Delhi
Katra is a small local market of Chandni Chowk..
Chooriwaalaan is the lane which sold bangles
Bee refers to an old woman ..
whose vision is failing...and she finds difficulty in locating her door
From this dark alley one of the brightest stars of literature had emerged
one such series of lamps begins from this gali qaasim..(Quasim lane).
which leads further on to the brightest star of our history called Mirza Ghalib....Dr Pendyala Pradeep, Anaesthesiologist.
