You're in safe hands...

You are in the safe hands, said the doctor. Sincerely, I feel, the patient is in safe hands if his doctor knows many things about him and every aspect of his disease and treatment. Rarely, I see an Anaesthesiologist knows the various steps of surgery where he is giving the anaesthesia. Anaesthesiologist mostly knows only his role in the entire surgery. But, I would say, the results could be better if the anaesthesiologist also knows about the surgery involved and the Surgeon also knows the Anaesthesia details being administered. A doctor is complete only when he knows Physiology, Pharmacology, Anatomy and Surgery aspects well. If he's inclined to learn these aspects well, I feel, the outcome of the patient would be definitely better...and yes, now, he would be in the safer hands. Col Pradeep Pendyala , Anaesthesiologist.
