Real Heroes & Heroines...

I had the honor of singing a patriotic song with the iconic singer Usha Uthup when she performed recently in Hyderabad. Interestingly, when she was in school she was thrown out of music class because she didn't fit in with a voice like hers. I know many famous and successful people who were painfully rejected before making it big. Amitabh Bachchan, the iconic superstar of Bollywood was once rejected by two radio stations for his baritone voice. Shah Rukh Khan during his early days, tried his hand at a restaurant business in Dariya Ganj, but failed miserably. Akshay Kumar, the true “Khiladi” of Bollywood once used to work as a waiter in a restaurant. Rajnikanth, the ‘Thalaiva’ of cinema, once worked as a bus conductor. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the National award winning actor who once worked as a watchman. Boman Irani, got his first ‘major’ break at the age of 44. They struggled to get fame and fought a deadly struggle for their success. I always admire such super successful people who experienced and overcame their failure and I consider them to be the real heroes and heroines. Col Pendyala Pradeep, Anaesthesiologist.
