Alzheimer's

Govt offers pension scheme to staff and that's good. But, there are people who start surviving exclusively on pension and stop working after retirement. I would say, in that case, pension is bad and harmful. Mental stimulation is a must to avoid dementia and the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. It is always better to take up a job after retirement to keep yourself mentally active. We need to regularly connect with someone who cares about us after retirement. Many of us become more isolated as we get older and after retirement from service. Connecting with others via social networks such as Facebook, Whatsapp and emails should be encouraged after retirement. We must encourage people at risk to make positive lifestyle changes to prevent dementia and to lead an active life after retirement...Col Pendyala Pradeep, Anaesthesiologist.
