Just saw the movie Paltan at RSI Secunderabad. The film tells the real story of how the Indian armed forces crushed a bigger Chinese force at Nathu-La Pass on the Sikkim-Tibet border and won a victory over China who had defeated us in 1962. Interestingly, I have served myself as a RMO of a Gorkha Regiment during 1983-85 at the same location. It is the story of Indian Army’s Rajput battalion, who had put up a great defense against their unreasonable Chinese counterpart. The movie is based on the Nathu La military clashes of 1967 which took place along the Sikkim border, it is an untold story of the Indian forces facing an intense battle to ward off the Chinese infiltration. It is a must watch movie for our pride, patriotism and yes to watch the sincere effort of the director JP Dutta to make a movie out of our forgotten slice of history. Hats off to him....Col Pendyala Pradeep, Anaesthesiologist.
