What's your name ??

What's your name ? Chamundeswari sir !! Do you know the meaning of chamundeswari ? No sir !
It's nothing but goddess Durga.
This interesting conversation took place at our hospital just now and I was talking to my hospital sweeper services staff !!
Well, it's ok if this illiterate lady doesn't know the meaning of her name, but, I find it funny when an educated person sometimes refuses to tell me the meaning of his own name because he doesn't know.
Why do names have meanings? Simply because it was traditionally common to name people after certain concepts, to bless them, to indicate something about them, to let them appear different and so on and so forth. That were probably the original meaning. BTW, even a meaningless name has some meaning because it means that specific person whose name it is 😉😁

Teacher of Anaesthesiology

I always wanted to be a good teacher in Anaesthesiology. Unfortunately, I was not able to accomplish my dream due to my postings to various peripheral hospitals during my thirty three years of army life. But I never left my optimistic attitude...I knew someday I will be able to achieve my goal. Immediately after my retirement I joined Malla Reddy institute of medical sciences Hyderabad but they didn't have MD post graduate students in Anaesthesiology those days...I had only few DNB students with me and I started my sincere efforts. I could accomplish my first dream of becoming a good teacher while I was working at Mediciti institute of medical sciences Hyderabad when I was permitted to speak at ISACON Telangana. There's been no looking back thereafter ..I was chosen as faculty speaker at ISACON National at Agra. Later, I was a panel speaker at Hycom and speaker at South zone ISACON and of course at ISACON National at Bangalore. Finally, I'm the happiest person in the world as a Professor at Alluri Sitarama Raju Academy of Medical Sciences.

Facebook and me

Strange but true, when I joined Facebook in 2009,  I was computer illiterate and a very slow reader ...rather, I used to hate reading much. I never had shown much interest to be well informed by reading newspapers thoroughly nor watching news channels and ever doing in depth analysis of world happenings. Facebook changed my outlook and my entire personality...I started reading various happenings of the world and various topics and regularly reading excellent write-ups and poetry and reviews of movies and politics on Facebook...that broadened by horizon. Suddenly, I noticed that I became a speed reader and a voracious reader too. My computer skills increased to a great extent. Well, that's my story...

Life's journey

Strange but true, everyone is fighting his/her own battle in this world. We can't say that we're having more challenges in life than others. Others may be having more problems than us ..they may not be sharing or else, they may not be as lucky as us in getting over their problems. Interestingly, everyone has got some complex or personal demons which they keep fighting all through their life. Life's a very interesting journey...the twists and turns are truly amazing. Sometimes we feel as if it's our worst phase of our life but frankly that's the turning point and the same problem and obstacle makes us extremely strong and successful.

Dr D Raghunadharao Rao

It's a an honor and privilege to be a classmate of Dr Digumarti Raghunadharao, a BC Roy award recipient and director of Homi Bhabha cancer and reasearch centre visakhapatnam. He's my classmate at Andhra medical College between 1975-80. He's the person who developed comprehensive cancer centre including tumour registry at Nizam's institute of medical sciences, Hyderabad.  He pioneered cancer clinical trials in India. These days, he's busy in preventing cervical cancer in India by mass HPV vaccination. He's celebrating his birthday today and I would wish him all the best for his endeavours and pray God for a long life to this noble person.

ASRAM

Throughout our lives, we look for peace and happiness. We want to live a happy life and want to know the purpose of our living. I'm no exception... finally, I got answers to all my queries... I'm at ASRAM, Alluri Sitarama Raju Academy of Medical sciences and I'm very much staying at the campus in a
n apartment provided by the medical College. Right away, time seems to have stopped ... I'm surrounded by nature and beautiful trees and plants... dotting the vast stretch of campus are flowering trees and shrubs which is beyond description. Chirping of thousands of birds especially during sunset is something very pleasant and I find it very soothing and melodious. Few restaurants within the campus are additional delights. And not to forget the amazing learning center Dr APJ Abdul Kalam central library...which could be the best library in the entire country.
