Aahat...

Har aahat mein teri talaash hai
Har talash mein teri chahat hai
Har chahat mein teri kahani hai
Har kahani mein teri ibaadat hai
Har ibaadat mein tera naam hai
Har naam mein tera chehra hai
Har chehre mein tere phasane hai
Har phasane mein teri chahat hai
Har chahat mein teri duva hai
Har duva mein tera khayal hai
Har khayal mein teri yaad hai
Har yaad mein teri khushboo hai
Har khushbu mein tere arman hai
Har armaan ki ek hi manzil hai
Har manzil ki tu hi shuruvat hai...

On my birthday...

On my birthday
I pray for me, my family and my friends of FB
I try to recall how much I gained
by the interactions I had
on the walls of Facebook
yes I have aged
with experiences, new thoughts and ideas
I am grateful for the love and compassion of my Friends
I have only one message on this special day
Life is beautiful, life is fun
and life is really interesting
And FB Friends are the best thing I found ...

Fukrey...

Just saw the movie Fukrey ( Punjabi slang for unemployed ). The movie had its hilarious moments, but very few. Almost every sentence has a punchline but mostly it failed to make any impact on me, although my wife was laughing on every punchline. The Pundit and Bholi Punjaban were impressive. The first half was terribly slow and beginning was not impressive but the movie slowly picked up well. Many of my friends told me that the movie has got comic punchlines which would crack me up, but I didn't feel that way. The movie was shot entirely in Delhi and its lanes. The main characters of the movie were fresh and presented something very new, which I had not seen in any movie so far, very original and bold. Interestingly, critics had been going gaga over this film, but I would not recommend this movie for your precious time.

Medical Applications and Smartphones

I am sure, many of us are almost obsessed with new entertainment applications for our smartphones and tablets. Now, we have medical applications easily available for downloading on our smartphones and tablets. The question is : are these medical apps the future of our medicine ? Most of us are using many applications on our smartphones for entertainment, but are you aware of something ?? Medical applications are going to serve us a very serious purpose. It is being strongly recommended that medical care providers should use Medical Apps forthwith and meet professional objectives of " No Maleficence and only Beneficence." These applications are like book stores and you can download them easily from many sources and interestingly it is mostly free of cost or at a very affordable cost. The development of these medical applications can effectively change the medical world. With these applications, even the patients can easily get the exact information about their disease and of course, health. The biggest question is how are they going to be regulated ? There is now an application available for almost every subject, disease, calculation of dose for any medication and also how to make a diagnosis in seconds. Amazing, ain't it ? These medical applications can prove to be dangerous when they don't operate correctly. I strongly feel, nothing can replace simple clinical medicine. It is better we don't become slaves of these medical applications !!

Bedside manners...

Empathy, curiosity, compassion comes naturally to many people. But such things can be taught to some extent especially to doctors. Good manners and good bedside manners can achieve better results and better patient satisfaction. A well mannered gentleman doctor who is respectful and attentive can be more popular and can produce better results vis-à-vis a much more skilled and qualified doctor who is well known for his rudeness. A smiling, confident and respectful doctor can easily calm an agitated mind of a patient. There's no magic wand to cure the incurable, but good etiquette can work as magic bullet, trust me.....Dr Pendyala Pradeep, Anaesthesiologist.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani...

Just saw the movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, probably Deepika Padukone's best movie. You just can't imagine Deepika could act so well. The best scene and dance of the movie was obviously the song picturization of Badtameez dil. Kalki was too good and yes, Ranbeer Kapoor was superb. Aditya Kapoor( of Aashiqui 2 fame ) has acted well. Second half is a bit lengthy. The movie is full of meaningful dialogues. I still consider, this movie is the best movie of Deepika Padukone. A must watch !!

Doctor's Day...

A doctor friend of mine reminded me of the significance of Doctor's Day. Doctors day in India is celebrated on 1 July, it is the birthday of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy. Some fascinating facts about this legendary doctor, he had both MRCP and FRCS degrees, that made him a highly qualified physician and a surgeon. He was also the Chief Minister of West Bengal for 14 years and was a leader with great vision. Dr BC Roy was honoured by the highest civilian award  Bharat Ratna on 4 Feb 1961.
Incidentally, he also passed away on 1 July 1962 on his 80th birthday.
Well, there could be several reasons for its celebration. A large population of India depends on the efficiency and responsibility of doctors. It is celebrated as a mark of respect for all those doctors who have relentlessly made efforts to sustain the life of their patients against all odds.
