It's constantly raining here for the last two days. Holidays declared for Vinayaka Chaturthi followed by Sunday. Saw a nice movie at Eluru last night despite heavy rains..GOAT at my favourite theatre at Eluru...SVC Cinemas. Was wondering about my life...I must thank my classmate Dr Chakradhar for what I'm today. Once I saw his profile name as Professor Chakradhar and I loved it. Till then, I never thought I would prefer a teaching appointment in a medical college after my retirement in 2015 after serving army medical corps for 33 long years. I had planned to open a tennis academy at Secunderabad where I can coach tennis. I had even marked a location for the same at Ramakrishna Puram, Secunderabad. But everything changed after seeing my classmate's name in a WhatsApp. I too wanted to have a title of Professor preceding my name. That's how I joined very next day after retirement at Malla Reddy institute of medical sciences and later worked at Medicity Hyderabad and then at Asram for the last five years...life is very interesting... My son
My only son is doing very well in life ...the reason is very simple...we never gave him the luxurious life style...he has come up the hard way. He's never taught in expensive convents...he was not permitted to study in an engineering college on capitation fees...he studied in a simple engineering college which he obtained on his own merit. Today, I see parents spending lakhs on their children's education...even a play school fees is a lakh and kindergarten is three lakhs. Medical seat is in crores. Children drive down to their school or colleges in most expensive cars. My sincere suggestion...if you want success... there's only one way...the hard way...Col Pradeep Pendyala Professor of Anaesthesiology

Anaesthesiology
Understanding and memorizing Anaesthesiology could be very challenging. Frankly, I am writing this note for my Anaesthesiology post graduate students but others also may be benefited by reading this post. Whenever you read your subject, write brief notes, never forget to highlight important points (don't worry about spoiling the look of your textbook). After reading a chapter, you must ask questions to yourself on the same topic and don't go to bed unless you understood every aspect of what you've just read. Always look for diagrams and charts, they make it easier to understand a topic much faster. Once you have memorized the topic, never forget to discuss the same with your classmates. Always go for the concept rather than memorizing the whole topic. The more you read, the more you fall in love with your
subject... happy reading... Col Pradeep Pendyala Professor of Anaesthesiology
Belly fat
It's very challenging to reduce belly fat. There's nothing like spot reduction. If someone says that by doing crunches and planks you can reduce belly fat, it's wrong. Reducing fat from a specific area is impossible. It's possible only by overall reduction of fat from the body. It can be achieved by diet plan and regular exercises alone. You need to reduce your calorie intake...that's the foremost requirement. You need to become calorie conscious but at the same time it should be balanced food. When you start reducing your weight and overall fat content in your body... always remember that belly fat is the last to go away... Col Pradeep Pendyala Professor of Anaesthesiology

How to decrease stress levels
In just two days, we lost two of our young colleagues due to stress related cardiac arrest. Dealing with stress is very essential. We must know what situations increase our stress levels. Please engage in regular exercise for fifteen to twenty minutes everyday to release endorphins to relieve stress. Deep breathing, yoga and meditation do help to decrease stress but I would advise you to spend some time in things which you love very much. It could be singing or listening to music or watching movies. Avoid excessive work and make sure you eat a balanced diet and ensure enough sleep. Avoid alcohol and cigarettes and drugs. Different strategies work for different people... happy weekend... Col Pradeep Pendyala Professor of Anaesthesiology

Home away from home
Deepak was living in a small town. Everyone knew everyone. Education was paramount in that small town. It had idyllic setting and wonderful neighbours. Teachers instilled a love for learning in the young minds. This place was a paradise where beauty, peace and wonderful people flourished. In the heart of this place stood a charming cricket ground where the students gathered to play and shared their laughter. Elders sat watching them play and engaged in meaningful conversation. This small magical place is my home away from home. Col Pradeep Pendyala
